Some of the finest faculty at Georgetown University teach Asian Studies Program courses and mentor the program's students. Whether their focus is in Southeast, South, or Northeast Asia, faculty strive to meet the highest standards as teachers and scholars. Undergraduate students may find themselves in a freshman seminar with a leading scholar on the history of royalty in Asia, or in a lecture course about Buddhism and Christianity. Graduate students may be writing a term paper on China with the former top intelligence officer on Asia as their faculty mentor, or on social welfare in Southeast Asia with the one of the nation’s leading scholars on the history of disease. Asian Studies Program faculty are well-integrated with their departments, teaching core courses in government, economics, sociology, anthropology, and culture with an Asian component.
