"At Georgetown, I hope to explore in-depth the politics of Asia from an academic point of view, which may differ vastly from what governmental work entails. This would allow me to have a more holistic understanding of the region. In addition, I also hope to connect with like-minded peers to share our views on the defining issues in Asia today, including US-China relations, the Hong Kong and Taiwan issues, and the situation on the Korean Peninsula. Upon graduation, I will return to work for the Singapore Foreign Service. I hope that my education and experience in Georgetown will allow me to better hone my skills as a Foreign Service Officer."
