"Through my undergraduate studies, I was granted the opportunity to travel to and research the Belt and Road Initiative in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal. With this experience, I realized that to understand this region fully, I had to understand Asia at large. Given the diversity of Asia, I value MASIA's interdisciplinary nature and believe this will provide me with a multitude of perspectives and skills necessary to engage in not only regional but interregional affairs. As a Pickering Fellow, upon competition of my studies, I will be working as a Foreign Service Officer and believe my MASIA degree will provide me with the necessary skill sets to excel. "
