Rintaro Nishimura
Class of 2024
"I have always been interested in studying the region I come from. That motivation became especially stronger as I learned more about my own country's politics. As an international student, I hope to make use of my diverse experiences to contribute to my country's foreign and security policy. To do so, I realized I needed more knowledge on the broader region beyond Japan, and Georgetown was the place I felt would best provide that knowledge. I hope to integrate both regional knowledge and skills-based knowledge (e.g. analytical skills) to better prepare myself for a career in analyzing complex political topics, especially in the foreign policy/security space. I am especially interested in learning more about the intersection between security policy and economics, which has become more prominent with the rise of economic security as a concept."
