Jess Shicheng Shao
Class of 2025
"Having grown up in China during its rise to power and traveled throughout Asia, I became fascinated with the region. I am excited to explore the vibrant Asian economy and diverse Asian cultures by continuing my education at Georgetown. The MASIA degree will not only help me achieve a thorough understanding of critical issues in Asia, but also dive deep into my concentration in International Political Economy and Business of Asia. Upon graduation, I aspire to work in a non-profit or non-governmental organization to make social change on a global scale. Whether it be breaking down U.S.-China trade barriers, evaluating the implications of the Belt and Road Initiative, or facilitating Track II diplomacy across borders, I hope to use my research skills and regional expertise to promote economic cooperation, tackle complex global challenges, and improve lives across Asia and the world."
