"I became motivated to study Asia through my study abroad trip to Taiwan, where I learned about cross-strait relations, and through international coverage of human rights abuses in China. While at Georgetown, I want to learn professional forms of writing, build a professional network, and take part in learning experiences that push me out of my comfort zone. I hope to work for multilateral organizations or nonprofits focusing on promoting human rights in Asia. I wish to create solutions by working with communities and relying on local expertise and knowledge."
