“At MASIA I am excited to deepen my expertise on China, especially its regional strategy and aspirations. Being in the Washington D.C. policy community during this crucial time for U.S.-China policy and relations is historic, and I hope to learn from the current and past decisions being made within Congress and the executive agencies. I am also excited to explore the broader tensions between top-down policy and bottom-up solutions to political and economic issues, as globalization shifts more power into the hands of non-state actors. By combining these areas of study, I hope to gain a balanced academic and practical toolkit to enter the China policy community dedicated to improving people's lives and protecting human rights in Asia and in the U.S.”
