Alex Zhenzhen
Class of 2026
"My experiences before college involved life in both the US and China as well as extensive travels in East & Southeast Asia, North America and beyond. Through these diverse encounters, I became deeply interested in the modern social-economic history of East Asia and US economic relations to the region, with a special focus on China. To further pursue the subjects and develop professional vigor, I engaged in rigorous interdisciplinary training during college. My courses in history, anthropology, and business equipped me with significant knowledge and analytical skills for the research of East Asian social-economic history. With English and Chinese at native level, I also attained proficiency in Japanese. Meanwhile, my summer work at English training institutions and a major mutual fund corporation in China added precious field experience to my practical skill sets. After college graduation in 2021, my corporate work experience in the real-estate development and management industry in China further allowed me to synthesize and analyze the latest social and economic conditions in late to post Zero-COVID-policy China first hand."
