"Ever since I traveled to China in 2017 through National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y), I knew I wanted to continue studying Mandarin and Chinese history and politics. The program also afforded me the opportunity to meet several high level officials at the consulate in Shanghai. These experiences further inspired me to pursue an academic, and later a professional career in Chinese history and politics. MASIA allows me to continue studying both Chinese politics and history."
