Laura Edwards
Class of 2024
"My interest in Asia and more specifically, China, extends back to my childhood. I lived in China and traveled extensively in Southeast Asia throughout my most formative years. In college, I continued Mandarin language training and wrote my undergraduate senior thesis on the ecological and public health impacts of the U.S.-China trade in electronic waste. As a MASIA student, I am looking to build a well-rounded understanding of Asia’s broader political and historical landscape -- and the impacts on current U.S.-China relations. I am also very interested in international science and technology issues, and am looking to deepen my knowledge of the role that emerging technology is playing in shaping global dynamics today."
