Title: Professor James Millward Awarded Fulbright Grant at the Norwegian Nobel Institute

Dr. James A. Millward, Professor of Inter-societal History at the Walsh School of Foreign Service,
was recently awarded a prestigious Fulbright Scholar Award to conduct research at the
Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo, Norway. The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers over 400
awards in more than 130 countries for U.S. citizens to teach, conduct research and carry out
professional projects around the world. From March to July 2022, Dr. Millward will conduct
research on his project, “Imperial China, Imperial America: Diversity, Identity and Sino-US
Relations.”
