Katie Martin received a B.S. in Foreign Service and an undergraduate certificate in Asian Studies from Georgetown University in 2011. She is also the winner of the Henry Chen Memorial Scholarship, a special recognition awarded by the Asian Studies Faculty Committee to a student who exemplifies the qualities and ideals to which Professor Chen’s life was devoted.
In this interview, Katie discusses her public health project titled “Youth Hygiene in Rural China.” The project focused on teaching 200 fourth graders at a rural Chinese elementary school about oral and personal hygiene.
