Class of 2027
Paul Yoon is a recent graduate from Baylor University, where he earned his BA in International Studies/Relations with minors in Political Science and Chinese. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Paul spent his childhood and youth overseas in East Asia, where he had lived in China, South Korea, and Taiwan. His overseas experiences and undergraduate research have significantly influenced his interests in US-ROK relations, particularly in nuclear non-proliferation and security dynamics on the Korean Peninsula. During undergrad, Paul was recognized as one of five Baylor Mayborn Scholars, which provided a stipend for studies and internships over the summer, as the Outstanding International Studies Student for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic years, and as a Dean’s List student throughout his four years. Paul holds internship experiences with the Department of State as a paid intern under the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs (details can be provided upon request), and worked as a Virtual Student Federal Service (VSFS) intern in collaboration with FSI as a Korean language partner for U.S. Diplomats for two cycles, assisting diplomats with translating briefing material, newsletters, and engaging in diplomatic conversation simulations in Korean. Outside of government agencies, Paul also interned at Garcia and Garcia Law P.L.L.C., where he served as a Reporting Relationship Supervisor, managing the firm’s paralegal administration and handling immigration court cases alongside immigration attorneys. Currently, Paul is a 1st year Master’s student studying Asian Studies (MASIA) with concentrations in Politics and Security, and serving as the PR Coordinator for the Korea Policy Club of Georgetown University.
