"I hope to broaden my regional expertise in Asia by learning about other key regional players (e.g., Korea, ASEAN, etc.) in order to place the US-Japan Alliance within the broader context of the United States' strategy in the Indo-Pacific. My long-term professional and academic mission is to elevate the United States' presence in the Indo-Pacific and strengthen its most important alliances in the region, namely with Japan. I hope to do this by entering government service after graduating Georgetown and join one of the many US federal agencies involved in our foreign policy."
