Jaeyeon Im
Class of 2027
"I’ve been working at the Ministry of Defense of Korea since 2016, where I’ve been involved in key policy areas, including missile defense. Over time, I’ve come to understand that defense policy isn’t just about building military strength—it’s a nuanced and strategic way to advance a country’s broader security goals. This insight sparked my interest in delving deeper into international relations. At Georgetown, I’m eager to explore topics like strategy, deterrence, and alliances, especially within the context of the Indo-Pacific region. Through this journey, I hope to grow as a civilian expert capable of contributing to a more balanced and strategic approach to our security challenges."
