“My academic career started at NYU Shanghai in 2020, which allowed me to study in mainland China during the COVID era. I entered China in late 2020 after a long quarantine and lived in China until partway through the 2022 Shanghai lockdown. While in China, I interned for ByteDance in human resources and for the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China as an assistant to government affairs. After leaving China, I had the opportunity to study in the United Arab Emirates and in France at the NYU Paris campus.
After graduation, I began working in the US federal civil service for the IRS in Denver, Colorado in individual accounts management. I then transitioned to my current position as a Transportation Security Officer for the TSA. I began working for the TSA at Denver International Airport then had the opportunity to transfer to the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in DC. In this position, I worked through the two longest federal government shutdowns in US history and have seen how very large and very unique security circumstances are handled at volume.
MASIA at Georgetown University is the best-fit program for me to help me achieve my academic and career goals, and I am glad to be a part of the class of 2028!”
