Born and raised in Japan, Asahi Nakano graduated from the University of Tokyo with a B.A. in Law. During his undergraduate studies, he completed an internship at the office of a member of the Japanese National Diet. He was also selected as a Japanese representative for a trilateral youth summit among Japan-China-Republic of Korea, where he made a significant contribution to the success of the event. Before Georgetown, he worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, where he focused on the Korean Peninsula affairs.
