Robert Lyons oversees the M.A. degree, the graduate certificate program, and the undergraduate certificate program in Asian Studies. In this role, he serves as the primary contact for current, prospective, and former students of the Asian Studies Program, and is responsible for student recruitment and admissions, as well as the Visiting Researchers Program. He also oversees day-to-day program operations.
Dr. Lyons received his B.A. from Augustana College (Illinois), M.A. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and Doctor of Liberal Studies degree from Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies. Previously, he taught English at Huazhong Normal University in Wuhan, China, and worked for the Johns Hopkins University SAIS Office of Academic Affairs. He also interned at CSIS in Washington, DC.
