Remembering Professor Naoyuki Agawa 

Professor Naoyuki Agawa was a distinguished lawyer, diplomat, and professor of law at Keio University. A proud Hoya, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) from Georgetown University in 1977. He was also the author of Friendship Across the Seas: The US Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.

On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the Asian Studies Program hosted a lecture to commemorate the late Professor Agawa. A recording of the event is enclosed for viewing. We honor Professor Agawa’s significant contributions in fostering cooperation between the United States and Japan, as well as his remarkable accomplishments as both a diplomat and scholar.
