"As a student at Bowdoin, I realized as a senior that my deepest academic passion lay in studying domestic Chinese politics, the Chinese Communist Party, and the ways that the Chinese state responds to and interacts with Chinese citizens. I applied to Georgetown in order to learn more about these topics, as well as to study the ways in which China's domestic political arena affects China's foreign policy and its relationship to the US."
