Daniel Monson received an M.S. in Foreign Service and a graduate certificate in Asian Studies from Georgetown University in 2012. The Asian Studies Program sponsored Daniel as a Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellow, which enabled him to take Chinese and Asian area studies courses. During his time at Georgetown, Daniel interned at the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and the U.S. Department of Defense. Daniel is currently a Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Department of State.
"The SFS Asian Studies Program at Georgetown University helped me take my graduate school education to a new level. I was given the opportunity to incorporate language and Asian area studies courses into my graduate experience, which would not have happened without the support of the program. The Asian Studies staff and faculty were excellent, and the education has been critical in preparing me for government service and diplomacy."
