Title: Event Recap: The History of Anti-Blackness in China and Sino-Black Relations with Dr. Keisha Brown

On Thursday, October 1, 2020, the Asian Studies Program and the Asia in Depth Series hosted Dr. Keisha A. Brown, Assistant Professor of History at Tennessee State University for a discussion on the history of Anti-Blackness in China and Sino-Black relations. During the event, Dr. Brown discussed the erasure of Black actors in Chinese adaptions of ads and marketing campaigns, the perpetuation of Black stereotypes throughout China, and the recent discrimination against Africans in China during the COVID-19 pandemic.
