Workshop on U.S. Policy Towards Asia

In the fall 2008 semester, Asian Studies hosted a workshop on the future of U.S. policy in Asia. This project is the second installment of a new collaborative research effort with Korea University begun in June 2008 with the aim of producing a collaborative edited volume. Papers were presented on China’s integration in Asia; the future of the Korean peninsula; and the United States and Asian architecture. Speakers and discussants included Robert Gallucci, Dean of the School of Foreign Service, Han Sung Joo, former ROK foreign minister and president of Korea University, David Steinberg, Distinguished Research Professor at Georgetown; and Jack Pritchard, former Special Envoy for North Korea and president of Korea Economic Institute.
